I turned on Larry King on CNN who scrubbed a scintillating overview of steroids in baseball and the Jay-Conan story to the tragedy of the Haitian earthquake. During commercials, I switched to Rachel Maddow for comparable quake coverage, but found very deep Prop. 8 coverage.
This time, it was Rachel 8, earthquake nothing. Disappointed. Eight’s important, but breaking news is just that and a lot of Haiti seems broken.
In the light of a new day, come to find out the earthquake wasn’t an ordinary disaster after all. It was more correctly one of the greatest natural disasters in the history of mankind – possibly deaths in the six figure range and the complete physical destruction of a city of 3 million, plus – none of which apparently compares to the suffering of Prop. 8 afflicted lesbians, who don’t have governmental approval of their marriage, which is about a 2 on the Richter scale, if you will, while Haiti is a ten plus. Shame, Rachel!
